Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026.

1. Mouse Measurement Data

At Mouse DPI Analyzer, privacy is built directly into our technical architecture. When you click inside our measurement zone and slide your mouse, all relative delta events (movementX and movementY) are processed exclusively by your browser's local JavaScript virtual machine.

We do not operate backend ingestion endpoints for raw telemetry, mouse trajectories, device serials, or calculated DPI results.

2. Local Storage Usage

To show the Last three saved runs list, the application stores up to 3 test records directly in your browser's localStorage under your browser profile.

• The saved history is kept in this browser profile; we do not sync it to an application account.
• You can erase all historical records at any time by opening the result details and clicking Clear saved history, or by clearing this site’s browser data (including local storage). Clearing cached files alone does not remove local storage.

The active three-run group exists only in the current page. Reloading or selecting New group starts a fresh group; it does not delete saved history. Using a result in the eDPI calculator places that value in session storage for the same browser tab, then removes it when the calculator reads it.

If browser storage is blocked or full, the tool warns that recent runs may be lost on reload. You can still complete a group and copy its result. If clearing saved history fails, the list stays visible with instructions to clear this site's data in your browser settings.

3. Network Resources and Analytics

The layout requests Google Fonts from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. The production site also uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand page usage and usability. Those services receive web request and interaction data. See the Google privacy policy and Microsoft privacy statement.

We send workflow events such as measurement started, completed, cancelled, copied or transferred. These events contain no DPI readings, ruler distances, trajectories or device identifiers supplied by this application. Measurement outputs and history are explicitly masked for Clarity. GA4 page addresses and referrers are configured without query strings.

New result transfers do not put DPI in the URL. Older shared links may contain a DPI query parameter: the browser reads and removes it before initializing analytics, but the original URL can still appear in hosting request logs. To avoid that path, use the tool’s transfer button.

When enabled, our self-hosted Plausible service records pageviews using the page origin and path and the referring website's origin. These requests use no cookies and omit URL queries, fragments, mouse measurements and other input. The server still receives normal network request information. Pageview analytics is enabled by default; you can pause it below. This choice only controls Plausible, not Google Analytics or Clarity, and does not remove previously recorded visits.
