1. Why We Built DPI Analyzer

Checking a mouse setting usually means installing device software or comparing cursor movement by eye.

We created Mouse DPI Analyzer as a simple, zero-download way to check a mouse's reported movement against a physical distance.

2. Core Engineering Principles

PRINCIPLE 01

Local Measurement

Pointer events, trajectory calculations, and saved test history stay in your browser; the application does not upload them to a measurement backend.

PRINCIPLE 02

Relative Browser Input

Pointer Lock lets the page receive relative movement while the test is active. The browser and operating system still determine how that input is reported.

PRINCIPLE 03

Visible Mathematics

The measurement and conversion formulas are shown in the guides so a result can be interpreted without a hidden correction factor.

PRINCIPLE 04

Clear Scope

The result is intended for checking and comparing a setup; it is not a hardware certification or a promise of identical behavior on every browser.

3. Technical Verification & Standards

The method is compatible with browsers that support Pointer Lock and report relative mouse movement. It cannot identify a sensor's true factory calibration, remove every operating-system transformation, or replace controlled laboratory equipment. For a more reliable comparison, use the same surface, distance, and movement technique across repeated runs.
